Here's the hubby with it on.
She is done. It fits my head okay, but if I roll it up it doesn't cover my ears. So I think it will work better on an eight year olds' head than a 35 year olds' big honkin' head, but he says he wants it. So I guess I'll make another one exactly like it for the eight year old.. The three year old says he wants a red one. ;p (It will match his coat, too.) ;) I have some red left from my Fendi bag, but I don't know if it will be enough. I think I will wait to start his; I hate running out when a project isn't finished....

Hi Tina! love your stripes hat. thanks also for the tip on how to open patterns at garnstudio. actually i figured it right after i made that comment at Mimi's blog.
Thank you, Fe! Thanks for coming to visit me, too! You're welcome, I am a computer dummy; so if I figure anything out, I try to help when I can. ;p
Wow, you really work fast, Tina! And hubby looks smashing...you make such a wonderful couple!
Thanks Mimi.
Did you double-strand the yarn? I've been wanting to try this pattern as my first knit hat.
Jewels, I did double strand it the first time, and then frogged it as it was way too thick (like cardboard or something) and my gauge was way off, too. With one strand it turned out like the one in the picture. I think if I made another one for an adult, though, (and if he wanted to fold it up), I would cast on an extra ten maybe? Otherwise when he folds it up, like I mentioned, it doesn't cover his ears (or mine for that matter and I have a small head).
