"Piggy" Bank

Well this was my bright idea; to crochet a 'piggy' bank.... ha ha ha... It didn't turn out as cute as I thought it would. In fact, I think it is downright scary looking. I hope my son doesn't get nightmares from it... :p (He actually likes it, so I don't think that's going to happen.) He did say 'It looks like a monster pig' LOL But he has been carrying it around saying 'Oink.' 'Oink.' all afternoon.
Here is a closer-up view (in case you weren't scared enough already.) ;p

Here's where the coins go in. I made a slot in the top to match up with the slot in the top of the coffee can. I forgot to upload the picture of the coffee can I used. It is an 11.5 oz. Folgers one... I did finish a pink bunny that is just like the blue one I made. But I am having some serious problems with trying to get my pictures from my camera to my computer (sigh...) That is the way this whole week has been going, though...
Edited to add: People have actually been asking me for this pattern on Crochetville, so I wrote it up and put it on my pattern blog if anyone would like to make one... :P I'd be interested in seeing it if anyone does decide to make one! Have Fun! :D

Tina, I'm not going to say it looks great(yet), but it is really a bright idea! When you said piggy bank, I expected its like the can cozy you made before, but with a slot to put coins. So I was actually surprised to see it's a pig on a coffee can :D
I bet it would be accepted for the CPAD calendar! And If you want to improve it (sorry, I didn't wait for you to ask for my advice) just make the eyes more good looking. Also, if you can make the other eye wink, that would be great!

You can just come out and say it, Mimi, I know it is ugly! :p I don't think I will make any more of the pigs... But it did give me an idea how to make the lid for the Stashbuster Coffee Can Cozy. So maybe I will submit that one. And you can say things without me asking, by the way, too. ;)

Some people are saying it is cute. (I don't think it is, but...) Maybe in a 'Spongebob Squarepants' kinda way it could be... Oh Well...

:D

Tina, you are really on the right track making this pig, why stop now. It is cute, and you just need to improve on it a little :) What we see mostly now are amigurumi animals, so this is quite unique!
Btw, I still think you should try to submit it to the calendar...even if you already posted it on your blog.
