Rhubarb Pie

After seeing Tammy's Rhubarb Pie  ~made with her very own rhubarb!! I'm so jealous... ;)  I had to find some rhubarb!! I LOVE rhubarb. I always use to stop at this farm on the way to my Grandmother-In-Law's house, to buy rhubarb. (When we had any money). I usually made Rhubarb Rumble (with the oatmeal/brown sugar topping). I have never made a pie. But, like I already said, after seeing Tammy's...  I had to have one. I finally found some rhubarb in the freezer section at Smith's. It was expensive ($2.89 a bag!), but... I had to have it.    I had enough to make two pies. The other one is still in the oven.  When I was googling "Rhubarb Pie", for recipes, I found this video of a song about Rhubarb Pie~ How cool is that?! I love it.  This song is dedicated to Tammy, thank you for posting about your pie Tammy! ;P  (I guess it will have to be in a separate post...  Still not sure how to post a video.)  :)
Have a Great Day, everyone.  :)

Used to "steal" rhubarb from Mrs. Larrison's garden when I was young . . . she didn't care a all, but it was so much fun just gooing in and getting it when we wanted it.

Anyway, I could just eat it right out of the garden . . sourness and all.. L*O*V*E*D it that way, as a child, and L*O*V*E it sweetened as an adult.

Are you going to post your Rhubarb Rumble recipe for me?

Hmmm... I don't know if I can describe what rhubarb tastes like. :P It is sour, and tart. You definitely need to add sugar. Here is a wikipedia page about rhubarb:

I ate it right off the plant when I was young, too; Paula. I think I burned my taste buds or something, I ate so much. I couldn't taste anything for about three days after that. :P I will go see if I still have my rhubarb rumble recipe. I think it might have been mixed with apples. It was about 18 years ago when I made it, so... :)
