Rectangle Granny Babyghan Progress....
I have gotten pretty far on the baby afghan. I am actually surprised, myself. Only six more inches to go. I need more yarn though. See the label laying there, empty? ;P I think that's pretty good that I only have to buy one more skein, for a 'scrap' ghan.... I will have to buy some more blue, too for some booties. So technically I am buying two, but.... Well as you can see, not much excitement here. It is starting to cool down a little. Not much. But enough!! Anything cooler, I will take. I guess my first summer here was hard. They say it takes a couple summers to get used to it. But then other people say you never get used to it, just deal with it.... (Nice.) One thing I miss is the seasons. Mostly Autumn (and Spring). (Definitely don't miss winter, though!) The leaves turning color. I've been trying to find some patterns of leaves to crochet. But not much luck. I did see a coaster pattern book at Annie's Attic. And a really cute scarecrow toilet paper cover. It's on this page of the online catalog. They must be out of stock, when I click on it is says something to that effect.... I saw another really cute scarecrow one at Maggie's Crochet site. Here's a cute snowman one, too. And a cute Red Hat Society one, too! Uh oh, see what happens when I get bored.... Now I want to spend too much money. :P I remember when I first started crocheting, I made my own toilet paper cover for our bathroom. It was white, with dark hunter green and burgundy/mauve. With frilly edges on the bottom. I threw it away a long time ago. I only have one picture of it and it is empty, laying on the back, so I can't really see it anyway.... Well maybe I will just try to make another one soon. With leaves this time. Who knows. ;)

I love it how you create a blanket design just by changing colors. Looking forward to see it finished.
I have yet to make my first afghan and it'll probably be for a baby. Don't know if I mentioned this before, my 24 yr-old niece is pregnant (they're not married yet) and due this January. I would love to make baby stuff, but my older sister and her daughters are not really fans of my work :p
Its starting to get cooler here too - so conducive to crochet :)
Thanks, Mimi. I just do the color changes and somehow they turn out. I think my sister is only 21. (This is her second husband, too.) :0 My Mom just told me today that my sister was in the hospital because she gained ten pounds in one week (pre-eclampsia?) and her blood pressure was high. But she's doing better now. (I don't know what day it was she was in there....)
:0 I don't know how anyone could NOT be a fan of your work, Mimi!
My youngest sister (the one in UK), said she not thrilled with the news of my niece getting pregnant - mostly because she's falling behind. She's 30 and not having a baby yet :p
Your sister is still young to have a baby at 21...
Anyway, talk about my sis not appreciating my work...I thought I saw some interest in her liking the black shrug (the one she modeled for me...) so I gave it to her. But since then she didn't mention it, and most likely did not wear it. (knowing her from previous experience) I don't know. The least she could do would be just to tell me that she wore it.
My SIL is the same way. I knitted my niece a vest, and gave it to her as a gift. I had to ASK if they liked it (and try to see if she would say thank you), and she said 'Oh I don't like her to wear it, it gets all stretched out on the back of the neck.' ?!!! :0 Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth!! Some people just are ungrateful, I think. (Among other things....)
Yes, 21 is young. I was 22 when I had our oldest and I think I was way too young, then.
Oh that is so rude of your SIL! Who knows she might just be jealous. Anyway, its her lost...
