Catching Up...

It seems like I never get to go on the computer anymore lately... I haven't blogged in a while. We did get a new computer, I don't know if I said that in my last post... The kids seem to be more addicted to the computer than me, lately. Anyway~ I got an RAOK!! :D I couldn't believe it. I thought it was something else I was expecting (a square, for the Square A Month Swap at Crochetmania...) But then I looked at the package, and it said 'Crochetville RAOK'!! Woo Hoo! I said 'I got an RAOK!' to my son (he brought the mail upstairs). He said 'What's so big about an RAOK?' I said 'It's like a present, you weren't expecting'. :P From Amyjk at Crochetville. Thank you so much, Amy. You don't know how you brightened my day. I have been kind of depressed lately. I don't know why. I have nothing to be depressed about. I think it is hormones, to tell you the truth... Anyway I didn't mean to get off track, there... Amy sent me notecards, envelopes, a journal, two pens, stickers (yay!), and a bag of my favorite candy, Werthers!!
A picture of the stickers (FIVE pages of them!)~~ Thank you again, Amy.

This is a chicken hotpad I just bought on ebay. I saw it through Crochetville, had to buy one. You can find more chickens (and other cute potholders, too) here. Then I bought this pattern book, which has a pattern for one that is very similar. I made one, but it's in the closet and hubby's asleep right now... I am not going to be using this one for a hotpad, I want to get a couple little hanging hooks to hang on the side of the fridge to 'display' them.. :P

And here is a bag I am working on for our five year old.... (oi) It's Diego. I am glad this side is done. I have been feeling SOOOO ADD lately. Scatterbrained, can't concentrate, can only 'take' so much, then want to stop (crocheting)...... I just need to get some graph paper or 'make' my own, to graph out the other side to say 'Eon's bag'. I asked him, 'What do you want the other side to say, Eon?' 'I'm cute' :0 (He IS cute, but wow. That was funny and also one of those, 'hmmm' moments....) I said "What about 'Eon's bag'?" 'Just Eon'. I finally talked him into having it say 'Eon's bag'.... (Any other suggestions?) Eon is pronounced like 'Ian', by the way... :P Anyway, I made a Dora bag a while ago (in case you aren't sick to death of hearing about my Dora bag....) :P So, I thought, 'I should make a 'Diego' bag, too!' Thanks to Mary Jo, I was able to do one. Thanks so much, again; Mary Jo (and John, too!) :)

And last but definitely not least.... I got some more squares. :) This one came today, from Dragonflymom. They look kind of like little spiderwebs, don't they? I like it, it's kind of lacy but not too holey, either. Thank you Aurora!

And this one, from StitchnLocks, I can't remember what day it came (sometime in between today and the last time I blogged?) ;P Thanks so much, Aminah! I really like this one, too. (Well I like them all, but...) :P I like how the stripe pattern goes. And it is ALL the colors I posted; I think. Anyway, it's great and thanks again. :)

And this one came from Libilou! I know this one, it's Waldo's Puzzle. (Not sure about the other two, though...) I have done this one before, in green. For a comfortghan. I don't think I have a picture for it. Hmm.... Well, it's called Waldo's Puzzle, I think I found it on either Heartmade Blessings or CPC. Oh, by the way, Kathy, if you read my blog again.... I tried to leave a comment but apparently it didn't work so I will just post it here.... I am not sure what all the squares were, in my last post. I know the one on the top (the brown and red one) is 'Kingcup', and is from the 200 Crochet Blocks book. The other two might be found on either of the two sites I just mentioned (CPC and HMB). :) Hope that helps. I hope everyone is having a nice week, wherever you are. :) Oh and thank you for the stickers, too; Libilou! I have already used two or three of them writing letters. Thanks so much to everyone.

Some CAL FO's and Swap Squares!

Well the bad news is: Our computer fried on Thursday... :( All my pictures and patterns are gone! My husband says he thinks it is an electrical thing and can be fixed so we will be able to get our files... (I hope so.) Lisa was SO nice to send me a pattern that I had, thank you so much Lisa. I printed it out right away! :P I did have one more saved in my mail folder (one I really wanted, the 'Crazy Casserole' one). Hopefully I will be able to transfer all the other patterns I had, and maybe put all my pictures on CDs? Anyway.... with no computer it is amazing how much other stuff I got done. (Makes me think... what did I do with all my time before I even had a computer?) I finished my Drum Afghan CAL lapghan I was working on...
I finished two chicken potholders, for the Ultimate Potholders CAL (both CALs at Crochetville...) This one in a tan variegated. I just loved the variegated brown ones that oldonboys made, so I thought I'd do a variegated one, too.

And a white one I did.... I have enough red to do a red one, too. I might wait though to finish up some more WIPs I have.... And now some of the squares I got for the Square Swap at CrochetMania! This one I got from Miss Kitty~ It is called 'Kingcup'. I love the colors in it. Miss Kitty also sent me the cutest little turtle stitch marker, I love it. Thank you, Miss Kitty!

This one is one I got from Lisa. She had said she did some of her own designs, and mine was one of them. It's great, Lisa, thank you so much!

And last but definitely not least, Angelfire's square. I love the flower in the middle. I should have straightened it out before I took the picture. I think it got kind of squished on the ride out here. ;) Thank you so much, Angelfire.
I can't wait to put all the squares together in an afghan. It is going to look great.

Help Me....

I love this yo-yo bag that Joanieponytail made. (The brown one w/ the tan and green yo-yos). I want to make one like it. In fact, I bought some variegated brown and green yarn just with this bag in mind. Some day...

I also like the bags that crochetingfool made, A New Twist on a Granny Bag #1, #2, and #3. I want to make the yo-yo bag the most, though. I thought maybe if I at least posted about them it might get it out of my system... a little bit? I really need to finish some things before I start anything new!!!!!!!!!! (Like my Central Park Hoodie?) :(

Lapghan Progress...

Three strips done so far. I feel kind of funny posting every time I get one row done at Crochetville. But on my blog I can do whatever I want. ;) I started row #4. I used up a couple skeins of scraps. I did buy two more skeins, though. So I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of using up scraps... Well I had to buy some Aran, to edge it with... Then I bought some plum. Cuz I love that color.... :P Have a Great Day. :)

Hat & Scarf Set and the Start of a Lapghan...

This set is for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation... I know it's kinda getting late (especially if you've already read my last post, and consider that Spring is right around the corner...) ;P I did one more set, though...
And this is my first strip of a lapghan. I joined The Drum Afghan CAL. Everyone seems to just be making seven or eight blocks of color... Really, more would make it seem too much. At least for me, anyway. I am making this into a lapghan to send to Pine Ridge.... I need to go get some off-white yarn to edge it with. I am almost done with a second strip, already. The hard part is trying to make the colors "go"; it's almost impossible, really. I have just been trying to make them kind of match with the last color or two.

Spring Has Sprung...

Maybe not in Michigan. Or New York. Or Pennsylvania... But it has, here. It's kind of weird to think it is spring here.... I took a picture of the flowering trees behind the 'fence'...
Here, I tried to zoom in...
And here are some flowering cactuses... (well, only one.) I took this a while ago, actually. By the library. I am still a dorky tourist.... :P
The whole cactus. Well if it isn't Spring where you are, maybe it will be soon. :) Have a Great Day!
