I Don't Know if I've Ever Posted About This or Not...

This is a rectangle granny ghan I have been working on... I don't know, forever? I think forever would be a good word for how long I've been working on it... It's supposed to be for my FIL. It's almost done. I just need to finish it is all. (sigh.) I am posting this here so I can find the link for future reference, too... Rectangle Square

Some Catching Up...

This is the latest puffy I recieved in the mail from my secret pal. Dishcloth cotton! Yay!!! And, in the variegated pink I have been wanting for so long! And, I don't have any white. I have been thinking I should make dishcloths white, that way you can bleach them... She also sent four of the pull-off patterns. I really like the one on the very right and have been eyeing it for some time. Thank you secret pal!!
Oh, wait, there's more!!! This is a previous puffy she sent me, but my camera's batteries were kaput. Some vellum sayings, a stamp, and three handmade crocheted cards she made me to use!! And she also sent me one as a card, too. I love the crocheted cards. I will use them someday soon. I just hope I don't ruin them!! I should try to find the one she made me, to show you how she added grass and a stem. By the way, I don't know if I posted about this yet... If you are into card making, here is a really nice site I found browsing the internet, one day; with ideas to make some really pretty cards. I love this dragonfly card. I wasn't able to find a stamp that said 'spring' in Japanese, but I did find one that says 'love'. So I might use that one. I need to find some little dragonflies I could use, too...

And, here is a top view of the three cherries dishcloth. You can't see it much better~ but a little. If I had known it was going to be cherries, I could have done it in red. (I don't have any red anyway so I guess it doesn't matter...) :p

Here is a dishcloth I finally finished, though. (It's not the garterlac one...) It's kind of hard to see the picture in it, but it's three cherries... I guess I should have used red for this one. I only had off white though... I tried to take it on an angle to see the picture....

I Got a Puffy Today from my Secret Pal!!

Yay!!! Lookie what I got! I love paper and pens! I am seriously always buying pens and hoarding them because everyone keeps taking them out of the drawer or my purse.... :( Not these. I am hiding them in the place I hide my candy..... :D And the paper, too. Thank you, secret pal! :) Oh, and the butterfly is a hint of what she is making me.... Now she's got me guessing. ;P Oh and an update on the garterlac dishcloth. I ripped it out. :( I got to the part where it says 'pick up 8 stitches...' got that. But then it says: "*K 8, turn, K7, SKP, turn.* Repeat between the *s another seven times..." That is where I said 'huh?' Do you literally do that seven times or are you supposed to be able to count out K7, K6, each time? Cuz that's where I can't do it.... :( Oh well. Maybe someday it will just come to me out of the blue. Or someone will show me what it means.... Well have a nice Monday everyone!

I Have Casted On...

For a gartelac dishcloth. I have never knitted gartelac. Ever. I don't know why, but all of a sudden, recently, I have been on this dishcloth kick. Knitted. I found this pattern and thought I'd try it. (You can also open up a pdf file to print it out there.) Not having any of the bright beautiful dishcloth cotton colors :(, I casted on with RH acrylic.... I have a friend who knits all her dishcloths in acrylic. I told her, 'Why don't you use dishcloth cotton?' 'What's that?' I think she knows now, because she gave me a huge cone of it when we moved. Well I'll practice on acrylic; and then if it's good, I'll see if I can find some dishcloth cotton on sale or something...
