Hello, It's Me..

...I'm still here.  I have not been online much. Our computer kept having problems (because it was so old and was about to die..)  We have since gotten a new computer.  I don't know how we "lived" without one, before..  Honestly I could live without one. I have been doing a lot of knitting and crocheting (and baking, and cooking, and cleaning.)  I've been making hats for Operation General Beadle (and elementary school on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation).  I have sent all these hats/gloves sets..

I then started another hat immediately. But, Eon confiscated it. :P  I kept asking him, "Would you wear this hat?", because he is lately into "beanies". Every time we go to this one store here, he wants to go look at them. Well every time I asked him he would roll his eyes or make a face like "God, no I wouldn't be caught dead in that.."  :P  (He wouldn't say it, but the look said it all for him..)  Well I showed him this hat and he said "Sure", and took it. In teenager talk, I think that was a "Hell yeah"..  :P

Then I cast on for this one. I knitted a couple more inches so they could wear it for maybe the rest of their lives.  These are done in Caron Cakes.

I was trying to think of other hats to do... Then I remembered the hat patterns I got and made one for our son when the two older boys were little. I thought, "Do I even have that book still?"  I am pretty sure that hat was the only one I made from that book.   I looked and looked, then found it. How exciting, to find a book you thought you got rid of but still have! (It is for me!)  :)  So I made this one.  I tried it out on our older son Eli, "I made you a present." He just laughed. :0   I hope the kid that gets it likes it.. :(  I thought it could be like a slouchy hat.

This is our oldest son Evan with it on. Eli and Eon then wore it..  I don't know what happened to it.  But, I might make myself one. Even though they are "Kids Caps", it fit me.  Maybe I have a small head. Lol.

Then I finished another "School Colors Hat", it's from the latest issue- Fall 2016 "Love of Crochet".  That will take you to the "digital edition:, but you can see what the cover looks like. That's the hat, on the cover.  I love this hat. I hoped to get at least two more hats to send in. I may do more.  I started a baby sweater for the OB Unit though I wanted to try and get done to send in..

I bought a new baking "toy".  I have been wanting mini loaf pans FOREVER.   So...   I finally got one. I love making little mini loaves of banana bread or whatever bread..  I still haven't made anything with it.  I don't have any bananas. Maybe I will get some..

I've been trying a lot of new recipes.  I am in a recipe group on Facebook.  This one I have made twice now. I don't know what it's called (I will have to look for the recipe, it was in my favorites on our old computer, but not on the new one..)  You cut a chicken breast in half and put shredded cheese in the middle. Then "close" it. Sprinkle salt on top. Then three bowls: two beaten eggs in one, flour in one, and bread crumbs in the third. (I used cornmeal in place of bread crumbs). First dip it in the flour, then egg, then the bread crumbs. Fry it until brown on both sides. Put tomato sauce in baking dish (I used spaghetti sauce, much better than the tomato sauce which is what I did the first time..) Put some of the sauce on top, then parmesan and basil. Bake..  Here is the recipe (it's a video, only on Facebook..)https://www.facebook.com/FreeSamplesCanada/videos/10154342753437165/   Isn't it like Chicken Parmesan, but with cheese in the middle?    We had to cut the pieces in half, they are too much.

Duke's incision since his stitches were out..  The fur is filling back in, but I notice it doesn't seem to be growing, right by the incision.  :(   I need to give him a bath. I got some calendula for his incision. I don't know if I wrote about that on here...  I couldn't find it anywhere, every pharmacy I went to and asked they looked at me as if I were insane.  So, I remembered my Grandma used to get Puritan's Pride catalogs in the mail (vitamins, etc..) So I thought I would look online. And, I ordered some. Well meanwhile I was thinking maybe Whole Foods would have it (if anyone would).  And we went there, and I got some... So, now I have two tubes.  But, I told my husband, "You should try it on your hands and legs"...  (he has what the doctor said was psoriasis).  And, he said it works better than any of the store bought or prescription creams the doctor gave him. So, he isn't complaining that I got two tubes now, is he?   ;P   I don't know how I found it before, I can't seem to find the one I got, on their website now. But this is what calendula looks like. It's for cuts, burns, scrapes..sunburn.. My Mom was into homeopathic remedies when we were little (she still is, actually) and used this a lot with six kids!  That is the exact kind I got, too.

DUke's incision is looking so good. He may be like Paka. I thought her fur would NEVER grow back in to how it had looked . . her incision was between her shoulder blades where her collie fur (she was a shepherd/collie mix) was so thick. FInally it did.

Now Indy's fur fills in so quickly I sometimes have to trim it back until her incisions heal.

Thanks, Paula. I worry myself sick over everything. So... :P I wanted to give him a bath to see if that would help it look better. too. But was waiting until it healed up enough. I think part of it may be dried blood around the incision site.
