First Day of Fall

Today is the first day of fall, apparently. Thank God Facebook tells me these things. :P  I love Fall. That was one of the things I missed when we lived in Nevada.  I want to go drive up to Mount Hood and see if there are any fall colors.  There are some on the big hill nearby us.

I don't know if I posted about this candle jar...  Or that I wanted to make one. I bought paints to do it, and a paintbrush. And traced and cut out a leaf to use instead of a gel cling. (It worked okay, but I would get a gel cling if you can..)  There is still some residue on the jar from what I used (an address label).   Before I could even paint one, Eon started it..   :)  He got bored one day. :P

You are "supposed" to use a Mason Jar. But I used an old salsa jar from the recycling bin.  I used this idea to get the sticky glue junk left on the jar, and it worked! I started to worry, if that is what peanut butter does to the gunk on a jar, what does it do to your stomach?...   But, I think it is the peanut oil in the peanut butter. Because when I googled "how to get the gunk off glass jars", a couple sites said using some kind of oils and something else.. Anyway. Here is where I saw the idea to make this jar.  I added the ribbon and leaf thingy..   Not bad for the price of paint. ($1)

Another "School Colors Hat" I finished.  Nine down, one to go... At least that was my personal "goal" for this drive. There's still fifteen hats needed, It will be ten after I send these five.  So... maybe I will keep going. Who knows.

I have used a hair dryer to take off price tags. Guess the heat softens the glue.
