A lot has happened since my last post... I moved. AGAIN. To another state (my home state). Because my Dad was not doing well. He passed away 15 days after I moved back. 😭 We all knew that was to be expected, but it was still a shock to me... I've been trying to cope/deal with things the best I can. But it has been hard. And, my dog has been sick on top of everything. I finally took him to the vet and got him some meds so hopefully that clears things up with him.
I've been trying to organize everything. It's an extremely small house compared to the houses we've lived in the past couple years. I'm mostly organized and unpacked everywhere but my sewing room. I'm so glad I can have a sewing room, though. I would have to get a storage unit if I didn't have one. I just have one box left to unpack but I need more storage space. Sigh...
Anyway.. I have been trying to finish things to send with the baby quilt I posted about last. (Which still isn't done... And she is due this month!! 😵) This is a newborn hat and booties I finished. I keep telling myself I should just send these so the baby can wear them when it's born... Sigh...
And this is my afghan I finally finished. A couple days after my Dad died.
To go with my grey couch. Coincidentally, the kitchen (and bathroom) walls are turqoise. So that's kind of cool.
It's the Navajo Afghan, I've posted about it before.
This is my third one I've done.
Jetta thinks it's for her. 🐶
This is a quilt that my step-Mom gave me before my Dad passed. It was my Grandma's, made by "one of the aunts". I thought it was my Grandma's sister, because I know she quilted. But my step-Mom said it was one of my Grandma's aunts... I don't know who..
But, it is really cool to have this! Especially since I am into quilting more now.
A heart. It has a lot of rips and embroidery that is falling apart. But I still love it. Maybe I will get it repaired some day. There are a few quilt groups around where I live. But I just haven't had it in me to go to one yet.
A flower/flowers.
Another heart.
More flowers.
And this is the back. I think it's called "houndstooth" fabric/pattern. It's really cool. And the quilt is heavy! I put it in my sewing room, up. So the cats won't lay on it. Next time I see my uncles I will try to remember to ask them if they know who sewed it. It was in my Dad's cabin on the lake (long story, but my Grandma stored it there..) I should post a picture of the quilt my Grandma's sister made. My brother sent me a picture of it. Next time.
