I can't believe it's June already. It felt like winter would never end... Even though it's not technically "summer" yet, it is to me. I don't exactly love summer here because there's so many bugs here. But, I HATE winter. I saw a really cool moth the other day, I guess that's a cool bug. (The bugs I don't like are fleas, ticks, mosquitos, and those big black flies that bite.)
My husband said "There's a white moth out here come look." I was like "Ugh, so what, a white moth.." But this one is kind of cool. I've never seen one like it before. I googled it and the only thing I could find was "American Ermine" moth.
The next day I went to take the garbage out and it was laying on the porch like this, with it's wings open. 😀Now that's really cool. Another thing June means is strawberries. I have been looking for strawberry themed anything lately, stationery, paper, rubber stamps, stickers. I couldn't find anything online that I liked. Hardly any stickers. Maybe I didn't look long enough.
But my husband took me to Hobby Lobby Friday. 😀 And I couldn't believe all the strawberry things they had. I was so excited. They had a display of strawberry things: Dishes, towel, hot pad, cookie jar, etc... A butter dish, a soap (or lotion?) dispenser.. But this is all I got. I love it.
When I was little my Mom would take us to a strawberry farm to pick strawberries. There was just strawberry plants forever. I hated it when I was a kid. LoL. (Why do we have to pick strawberries?....) When I would close my eyes to go to sleep at night, all I could see was strawberry plants. LoL. Well when we moved back here, I wanted to go there. But it closed a long time ago. 😒 So we have to buy our strawberries at the store. I thought, "I haven't made strawberry shortcake in a long time". So, I made some yesterday. I had to go to the store to get more strawberries, though; because by the time I thought about making strawberry shortcake, there was only five left. (Sigh..) And I had to get whip cream, too. Last year I was a little bit interested in strawberry things. I saw a strawberry bucket hat someone crocheted and I thought that's cute. And I got the pattern for the square she used. I still have not made anything with it. Not even one square. I should do that. (If my stupid printer would work, maybe I could print the pattern out.) She used that strawbery square pattern, and this bucket hat pattern. Well this year, I am obsessed. I started looking for strawberry crochet patterns on Pinterest and Ravelry... 😐 I didn't realize there were so many!! I liked this bag. There was a post by Yarnspirations with a bunch of strawberry crochet patterns, but no links to the patterns. I like this strawberry bookmark. I went and looked up the people/patterns that Yarnspirations had posted about. This is one of the patterns, a strawberry purse. Nothing like spending a half an hour trying to find one pattern, but I found it! It's called a Fruit Jam Bag. There's a bunch of different patterns I was only interested in the strawberry, but that's the pattern link. 🍓 Ugh... Now I want to crochet all the strawberry things. I did crochet a strawberry bag last year. This pattern looks similar to the one I made, but I don't think it's the same person as the one I found originally. I think I sent it to someone though. I sent the blueberry one to my daughter in law. Now all I have is the one I liked the least. Maybe I will buy the Fruit Jam pattern and make one for myself. OMG Why did I go on Etsy and look for strawberry crochet patterns??? This is never going to end...
My brain is going to turn into strawberry jam... 🍓
