Duke's incision since his stitches were out.. The fur is filling back in, but I notice it doesn't seem to be growing, right by the incision. :( I need to give him a bath. I got some calendula for his incision. I don't know if I wrote about that on here... I couldn't find it anywhere, every pharmacy I went to and asked they looked at me as if I were insane. So, I remembered my Grandma used to get Puritan's Pride catalogs in the mail (vitamins, etc..) So I thought I would look online. And, I ordered some. Well meanwhile I was thinking maybe Whole Foods would have it (if anyone would). And we went there, and I got some... So, now I have two tubes. But, I told my husband, "You should try it on your hands and legs"... (he has what the doctor said was psoriasis). And, he said it works better than any of the store bought or prescription creams the doctor gave him. So, he isn't complaining that I got two tubes now, is he? ;P I don't know how I found it before, I can't seem to find the one I got, on their website now. But this is what calendula looks like. It's for cuts, burns, scrapes..sunburn.. My Mom was into homeopathic remedies when we were little (she still is, actually) and used this a lot with six kids! That is the exact kind I got, too. |

DUke's incision is looking so good. He may be like Paka. I thought her fur would NEVER grow back in to how it had looked . . her incision was between her shoulder blades where her collie fur (she was a shepherd/collie mix) was so thick. FInally it did.
Now Indy's fur fills in so quickly I sometimes have to trim it back until her incisions heal.
Thanks, Paula. I worry myself sick over everything. So... :P I wanted to give him a bath to see if that would help it look better. too. But was waiting until it healed up enough. I think part of it may be dried blood around the incision site.
