This is a necklace I have tested for Kristin over at Crochetville. I didn't have the type of yarn she had listed on the pattern for the longest one, so I improvised and strung a bunch of beads onto the thread. (I used Monaco from Mimi!! (Hey that has a catchy ring to it, Mimi...) ;) Technically, though, she doesn't sell the Monaco threads any more. But you can buy Cannon and Anchor threads through that link. Anyway.

Another blurry photo of a yarn ball...
My yarn ball is growing! I thought I didn't have any more green yarn scraps. (I won't use it unless it is already a scrap...) Well... remember this post? I had made a spiral rose with some of the yellow, but other than that haven't used it for anything. Well last night I thought 'Oh yeah! I wonder if there's any green yarns in there?!' Well there is... and now it's being added to my green yarn ball. ;p I still don't know what I'll make with it. But I'm thinking a purse. And it may or may not be crocheted. Or knitted. :D

A Yarn Ball... And Chocolates from Germany!!
I guess I'll save the best for last and talk about my yarn ball first. (It's soooo exciting....) :p I am just making a yarn ball from all my green scraps of yarn. To make something with, when it's big enough... I read about it in a couple different threads at Crochetville.
Just look at the chocolates from Germany!! I am eating one right now. Yum... A friend of ours (mostly of our fifteen year old sons..) went to Germany to visit family. I asked her if she could stash me in her luggage, so I could go, too. That didn't work (hee hee)... but she brought us some chocolates, though!! They are yummy. My sister in law sent us some chocolate from Germany once. It wasn't as sweet as this though. (I don't think it was sweetened at all, actually...) And, I won a blogiversary contest on Mimi's blog!! :o I don't believe it! I hardly ever win anything. It's so exciting! I got to pick out my very own color of choker, and Mimi is going to make one for me; of her own design. Thank you so much, Mimi!! (I told you I would save the best for last.) :D

I Got Another RAOK!!!
How cool is that?! Word has it (over at Crochetville), there is a busy RAOK'er in Kent, WA!! ;D Well, I don't know if it is all the same person, but it could be... ;) Thanks so much for all the pattern leaflets and for really brightening my day yesterday Kelle!!
And, for lack of any other crocheting to blog about... I thought I'd share the progress on my shawl. I've really gotten quite far on it. I'm on the last rep. But I may do a couple more, I don't know. I still have two or three skeins left. So I'll have enough. Probably. Well TTFN all. Have a Nice Tuesday.

Lilacs
Once again, not a good clear picture. (It's hard to take a picture with this thing, your hand gets all shaky trying to hold it and view it onscreen...) Anyway. These are some of my neighbors (shhh!) lilacs I just picked. Technically, it isn't in anyones' yard at all. The lilac bush is in the alley, behind their fence. There's about a half a foot of grass, and the bush. They smell so nice. And the vase has two lilac colored splashes of *flower* petals; underneath, the gold stems... You might think I have nothing better to do than pick lilacs and post about them. That is the farthest from the truth though. Have you seen Cupcake's New Corrugated Tea Cozies and Coffee Plunger patterns!? They are so cute! I would buy them if I didn't already have three tea cozies and another one planned. (To go with my *new* kitchen colors. Aka: new dishtowels potholders, and two $1 pictures at WalMart. A rooster and apples. Yes my new kitchen colors are red. And tan.) The living room is tan and brown with red splashes. (Well there aren't technically any splashes of red in there yet, but...) I wanted to do the dining room in tan, too. Right now it isn't really anything. And my kitchen towels are about fifteen years old. (Wedding gifts, I tell you.) So. It really was time to buy some new ones. :)

I Got an RAOK Today!
From Margaret. She went to Antigua and brought back some coins for meand my son who collects them! I have collected coins since I was about 19 years old. It's a hobby I got one of our sons into... They are so neat. Thank you so much for thinking of us, Margaret!!
And I have a little progress on my shawl. I am glad I wasn't depending on it or anything by this weekend! 1. I didn't even go to the wedding I was making it for. (I had to work.) And, 2. I didn't finish it.
Here's a closer-up view. So you can see the *spiderwebs*. I had to frog this thing and redo it I don't know how many times. That's what happens when you try to crochet while a million other things are going on... (well at least for me, it does....) After I had been working on my shawl for a while, I noticed Skydramini's post about the shawl she made her mother. I love hers!! It's so beautiful! And it's the same spiderweb pattern, but on a slant. I want that pattern so bad. She did mention it was in Russian. LOL I can't read or speak Russian, but... there was a chart. And I do pretty well reading from a chart. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll have enough spare time to sit down and figure it out. (Ha ha ha...) I do want to make my mom a shawl too. But I'll have to see what color/style she wants, first...

Finishing Touches
Well today I finally bought a button for my Chic on the Halfshell. I wanted one of those wooden long buttons, but really big. I couldn't find any, but I did find this one. (And another smaller, different one, which I also bought.) I like this one better for this purse, though. Now it is totally finished. I might take it to work tonight. I'll have to get a locker, though, so no one tries to steal it! ;) Maybe I'll just take my ratty old purse I've had forever to work... I am stilling really, really wanting this bag... :( I sent my husband a link to it in an email, so maybe he'll get the hint.... ? (I doubt it very much, but you never know. One year he completely surprised me for our anniversary, and bought me a really nice leather with fur....) So, if I start dropping hints now..... lol Can you tell I'm on a major purse fetish lately? Come to think of it, I think I have always liked purses, but just have never really had the money to get the ones I want!
