Furby!!

I went to Walmart the other day (sheesh, I guess that was only yesterday) to see how much a Furby was, for one last birthday present for Eon for this weekend. $54!!!!!!! :0   I thought, "I guess it will have to be a Christmas present, later.."  I posted that on a crochet group I am in on facebook; and said, "I wish there was a Furby crochet pattern, lol". I had looked everywhere, but I couldn't find one.  Well I was wrong. There is one! But it's called "Furballs". It's actually a hat pattern. But very easily adapted to a toy, too.  I was so excited. I hope Eon will be, too. :)

Crocheting On The Rocks..

I never thought I would crochet a rock cover...  But, I guess I am. I don't know what made me want to do this. But, I thought my Mom or my Aunt might like this. They go up to Northern Michigan, and get river rocks; and rocks from Lake Superior. My Aunt took a rock class. She has rocks all over her (decorated) garage. She's built rock bird houses (for looks), "rock concerts"; all kinds of cute things.  Let's see..  The rock that is crocheted on, I got on my walk one day last week. The one below it I got by the high school (same walk, same day). I probably looked like a Crazy Lady-walking my dog, picking up rocks and putting them in my fanny pack. LoL :P  All the others I got in our yard (which is all rocks), or driveway.

A close up. I used the Lacy River Rocks pattern. (The pattern is at the bottom of the article, it's a free download.) But I am thinking about looking up different motif or doily patterns, because some of the rocks are odd shapes. Like the one on top; it's kind of rectangular. And I thought it would be cool to make a triangular one. (I already have a motif pattern for a future rock.)  :P  I kind of want to go somewhere and look for rocks along the beach somewhere, now. There isn't much water, here, though..

I'm Still Here...

I have been crocheting a little more, lately. This is a Monkey Lovey  I started. Its' from a private group I'm in.  I finally decided what colors to make the blanket part of it. But, she hasn't posted the blanket part yet. And I'm not in a hurry either. I originally was going to make a boy one, then decided to make a girl one. I don't even know who I'm going to give it to. I'll probably send it to one of the charity groups I'm in.

One of Eon's teachers (his music teacher) had brought a bag of German candies in and gave each of her students one. Eon showed it to me, and said she bought it at the candy store here. I hadn't been there yet, so we went...  We tried explaining the candy to the store owner, and finally figured out they were called satellite wafers, and they're actually a Dutch candy.  I think they're gross. It feels like you are eating styrofoam. There are little hard sprinkle type candies in the middle.  On the back of the bag, it says they are from Fenton, Michigan. Small world (that's by where I used to live).

Evan brought Bailey over a few days ago. She's getting so big! Her tail got super long.  I just love her.

Look how long she is. I said, "Long Dong Puppy"  (sing like "Hong Kong Fuey"..)   Lol

Aw, Eli is almost as furry as Bailey... Lol

Bailey and Jetta on the couch. Jetta peed on the couch. Right after I took this picture she got off the couch & I noticed a spot of pee.  Grrrrr.  (She's not allowed on the couch anymore, now.)
A really cool sunset that night..  It was actually purple and pink. I don't know why it turned out  orange and yellow in the picture. But I still thought it looked pretty cool. So..

Scarecrow, More Squares for Knit-A-Square, and My Scrap Rug...

Sheesh... It's been a while.  I'm still here, though. And still crocheting. A little.  I finished this scarecrow today.  All the crocheting was done on it. I just had to do the "straw"; on the feet & hands. And the hair. It's from the October 2009 issue of Crochet World. I have no idea when I started it.

Some Square Bear Squares, for Knit-A-Square. I've been trying to keep up with the weekly CAL there.  This was a square I suggested. Cuz it's so cute.

That Button square.  I finally figured that out, too.  (Helps not trying to do four different things, while you're crocheting. (Sigh..)  :P

And this was another CAL square. I will have to look it up. It's a free Ravelry download: The Eight Pointed Flower  square.

I cleaned my craft room out (a little-still not done, but you can walk in there now).  (That was how I  found the scarecrow & decided to finish that, too, btw.)  I had a pile of yarn that was about to get tangled up; waiting to tie on to this and crochet some more.  So I did that, too.

And here's Eon on his first day of fourth grade. Yeah, he dresses himself now.   And, I don't say anything...   I pick my battles, now. ;)   They started school Aug 27th.  And the high schooler has already had his school pictures taken. Sheesh. They don't let you catch your breath...   I bet Eons' school pictures will be this week.  I went and got him a "pictures" shirt to wear.  He has about 70 t-shirts, already (I might be exaggerating a little, but I know that he has five drawers full of t-shirts. So...)   :)
